Clay was my first love and I worked with it for 20 years. but when I learned to weld, in order to make some large commercial sculptures, my working world changed. At first I wanted to see just how big I could work and ‘Shoe’ remains the biggest at 15 feet. It was placed in the fore-court of Bridport Arts Centre over 6 months at the turn of the millennium in celebration of women and their right to choose. All my work has a narrative, a conjunction, or collision of thoughts, leaving room, I hope, for the viewer to bring their own story to the piece.
